Creases of Time is a collection that captures the “traces of time” through the lens, revealing the silent passage of time and lost memories in abandoned objects, old buildings, and weathered natural landscapes. While these objects and scenes are no longer vibrant, they carry the marks and stories of history. Through this work, we aim to showcase how time is imprinted on objects and how nature relentlessly erodes human civilization, while also conveying the deep dialogue between human history and nature.

Each photograph is a frozen moment in time, capturing an abandoned or weathered instant. The details found on surfaces, building walls, and natural landscapes reflect the scars, cracks, and signs of aging—seemingly the marks of time in the material world, telling stories of past glory and decline. With this series, we not only document these seemingly lifeless scenes but also discover an alternative form of continuity: the flow of history, memory, and culture.

These discarded objects were once witnesses to an era, perhaps companions to someone’s life, recording warmth and memories of that time. The walls of old buildings, with their weathered traces and cracks, are like a poem written by time itself, speaking of past splendor and present silence. Similarly, the weathered rocks, overgrown grass, and broken trees in natural landscapes bear witness to both human civilization’s past and future. Though they gradually fade with the passage of time, they retain an indescribable power.

Through this project, we aim to provoke thought about the passage of time and awaken a sense of reflection. Whether it is the physical ruins or the spiritual voids, time unerringly leaves its mark. Every fragmented detail represents the intertwining of time and history, and these subtle details are the link between us and the past, between us and parts of ourselves.
