The Spanish Flamenco Dance & Guitar Performance Course is an immersive artistic experience designed to transmit the essence of traditional Spanish art forms. Flamenco dance, originating from Andalusia in southern Spain, is an energetic and rhythmically intense form of artistic expression. Students will master techniques such as “zapateado” (foot stomping), and learn to express elegance and strength through arm movements (“braceo”) and hand gestures (“floreo”).

As the course progresses, students will become familiar with different Flamenco dance styles, such as “Bulería” (fast rhythm), “Soleá” (slow rhythm), and “Farruca” (male solo dance). Each style has its own unique rhythm and emotional characteristics. Through practice, students will develop an understanding of the emotional impact of Flamenco dance and how to use it to express personal stories and feelings.

Flamenco guitar is an integral part of the Flamenco art form, and its techniques are highly challenging. In this course, students will learn essential techniques such as “rasgueo” (strumming), “alzapúa” (thumb and finger technique), and “picado” (pluck technique) to interpret the rhythm and emotions of Flamenco music. Students will also study iconic Flamenco pieces like “Entre Dos Aguas” and “La Leyenda del Tiempo” and learn how to integrate their rhythms and emotions with dance.

The course emphasizes the collaboration between dance and guitar, allowing students to interact with others and practice in performance settings. By doing so, students enhance their skills while gaining a deeper understanding of how to convey the emotional depth of Flamenco through both dance and music.
