The Indigenous Art Creation Course of Canada is designed to provide students with an in-depth understanding and experience of the rich artistic traditions of Canada’s Indigenous peoples. Students will engage in creating works of art, such as painting, carving, weaving, and leatherwork, and gain a deeper understanding of the connection between Indigenous peoples and nature, animals, ancestors, and the spiritual world.
The course content includes an overview of Indigenous cultural history, the role of art in daily life and ceremonies, and the cultural and spiritual symbolism embedded in artistic creations.
