A cerâmica portuguesa é uma arte tradicional com centenas de anos de história, fortemente influenciada pela cultura do Mediterrâneo e da Península Ibérica. Suas raízes remontam à antiguidade, com destaque para regiões como Alcobaça, Alméria e Algarve, onde se desenvolveram estilos cerâmicos únicos. As cerâmicas portuguesas são não apenas funcionais, mas também decorativas, com cada peça carregada de significados culturais e regionais, refletindo a habilidade artesanal do povo português.

Este curso oferece uma imersão no mundo da cerâmica tradicional portuguesa, permitindo aos participantes explorar a história, as técnicas e os materiais que definem este ofício. A primeira parte do curso aborda o contexto histórico da cerâmica em Portugal, com foco nas tradições de Alcobaça e Alméria. Os participantes aprenderão como a cerâmica portuguesa evoluiu de utensílios simples para peças de valor artístico e decorativo.

A seguir, os alunos conhecerão as ferramentas e materiais básicos necessários para trabalhar com cerâmica, incluindo argilas, ferramentas de escultura, esmaltes e métodos de queima. O instrutor ensinará como escolher os materiais e ferramentas adequadas para criar peças com diferentes estilos e acabamentos.

Os participantes aprenderão técnicas tradicionais de modelagem de cerâmica, como a modelagem manual, o uso do torno e a aplicação de formas moldadas. Serão orientados a criar peças utilitárias como tigelas, pratos e vasos, além de aplicar desenhos decorativos tradicionais, como padrões florais e geométricos, típicos da cerâmica portuguesa, incluindo o famoso estilo azul e branco de Porto.

Na parte final do curso, os participantes aprenderão o processo de queima e aplicação de esmaltes, incluindo o controle da temperatura e do tempo de queima. O curso abordará os diferentes tipos de esmaltes, como esmaltes transparentes, brancos e coloridos, e os alunos terão a oportunidade de aplicar esmaltes em suas próprias peças.

Por fim, os participantes serão incentivados a criar suas próprias peças, utilizando as técnicas aprendidas ao longo do curso. Seja um prato simples ou uma obra de arte mais complexa, cada aluno poderá expressar seu estilo pessoal e criar uma peça única.
